What makes us different to other groomers?

We offer 1:1 grooming two days per week which means your dog will be the only dog in at one time. This makes it a stress-free environment for your dog, especially if they are nervous.

We offer additional "spa" services including facials, paw balm treatments, teeth cleaning, ultrasound teeth cleaning and even photoshoots (which are especially popular at Christmas).

We are not a fast-paced, busy salon. we will take as much time as your dog needs (we space our appointments far apart to allow for anxious dogs who may need more breaks than others).

Katherine has trained with one of the top poodle groomers in the UK (Lakhi Thindal who was featured on pooch perfect the TV show) and so can offer longer lamb trims on standard poodles.

We are always looking for extra training to improve our skills.

Hi, my name is Katherine Shaw and I am the owner of Shaw's Paws dog grooming.

I started grooming in 2017 after taking my dog Alfie along to a groom your own dog course in Northampton and absolutely fell in love with it.

After the course I started doing mobile dog grooming for my friends and family which then expanded into a viable business.

I then moved into a salon in Nuneaton part time and rented a table from the owner, whilst continuing my mobile grooming on the side. During this time, I went to Sue Oliver's dog grooming in Derby to do my ICMG training so I could become fully qualified.

In 2021, I met my partner Sam. With a twist of fate and stroke of luck, he happened to know someone with a dog grooming salon who needed a new groomer to take over! I decided to go for it!

I moved into the salon at Kilsby cattery in September 2021.

Once we moved into our home in June 2024 we decided it would make sense to have our garage converted into a salon and so we did! We have been running Shaw's Paws from our home since January 2025.

I have a creative side and so as well as grooming, I also love giving the dogs photoshoots and making accessories like bandanas

Hi, I'm Amber and I've been working at Shaw's Paws since September 2024 and have loved it ever since!

Working with dogs was a childhood dream of mine after watching 'For the love of dogs' on TV.

I have a dog of my own called Chewie and he is a Shihpoo.

Laura-Jo

Hi, my name is Laura-Jo. I started dog grooming in 2020 as a trainee bathing assistant and worked my way up to now being a professional dog groomer. Since then, I have trained in cat grooming and have also trained with stylists featured on the TV Series Pooch Perfect.

I have had a passion for animals my entire life and have grown up caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, hamsters, sheep and guinea pigs. At home, I currently have a rabbit and a cat!

My favourite dogs to groom would be silky coats and any dog that has an Asian fusion style trim. I also love doing big de-sheds as the transformations are incredible once complete.
